Summer Company 2025 is now open!
Summer Company provides hands-on business training and mentoring in addition to awards of up to $3,000, to help enterprising students (ages 15-29) start-up and run their own summer businesses. Students gain insight into business creation and risk taking; practical experience in marketing, financial management, sales and customer service; and attitudes and skills essential for personal success, whatever their chosen career paths are.

NEW- this year you will apply directly with our centre, not through the Summer Company website, so email us to set up a meeting to discuss the program, guidelines and your next steps.
The Summer Company Program is delivered by the Small Business Advisory Centre for businesses in Smiths Falls, Lanark County and north Leeds Grenville (Merrickville-Wolford, Rideau Lakes, Westport and upper part of Elizabethtown- Kitley). This is an Ontario Government program.

About the Summer Company Program
The Summer Company Program, an initiative of the Ontario Government, supports entrepreneurial students aged 15-29 who are in school and returning in the fall. Participants receive:
- Up to $1,500 for business start-up costs
- An additional $1,500 award in September upon returning to school
- Approximately 12 hours of business training
- Hands-on mentoring and business advice
